Eagle Pass, TX - Two women who attempted smuggling 5.1 kilos of heroin through the Port of Entry were arrested by Customs and Border Protection authorities on Tuesday evening.
The arrests of 27-year-old Nancy Fuentes Casarez and 57-year-old Sonia Valdez López were enforced on International Bridge II, where one of them arrived, aboard a 2011 Lincoln type car and another, in a 2015 Nissan Rogue.
The report indicates that first one was sent to secondary inspection where the agents found a cardboard box and inside, the drug (approximately 11.3 pounds).
After the drugs were found, both were in federal custody and later handed over to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office where they will undergo corresponding investigation.

El informe indica que el primero fue enviado a inspección secundaria donde los agentes encontraron una caja de cartón y dentro, la droga (aproximadamente 11.3 libras).
Después de que se encontraron las drogas, ambos estuvieron bajo custodia federal y luego entregados a la Oficina del Sheriff del condado de Maverick, donde se someterán a la investigación correspondiente.
