Eagle Pass, TX - A local man ended up behind bars at the Tom Bowles Detention Center after his wife pointed out that he had physically assaulted her, but also tried to choke her, a case that happened on Marc Anthony Street, on Monday.
The subject was identified as Alejandro López, 31, who had fled the scene shortly after the incident took place, but thanks to the victim who was able to provide more details, he was found aboard his vehicle by sheriff's deputies moments after the event.
According to Roberto de Leon, Deputy Chief of the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office, the couple got into a heated argument that evolved into a physical altercation.
The subject reportedly struck his wife in the face, then took her by the neck, reports say.
She was able to get away and then report what happened. The aggressor faces charges of domestic assault.
