Eagle Pass, TX - Luis Sifuentes is not done yet, this morning he announced that he will be registering for the upcoming county elections.
Sifuentes was recently defeated by local attorney and now Mayor Rolando Salinas in a highly contested mayoral race. Next Friday the former mayor will register as a candidate for Precinct 4 County Commissioner.
The community showed great support and seems grateful for the hard work and dedicated time that Sifuentes gave the community during the most unprecedentedly difficult time (COVID-19) in recent history.
Former Mayor Sifuentes along with County Judge David Saucedo led the community's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in an effort to reduce the increase in COVID-19 infections for over a year. The pair's efforts are worthy of admiration, spending their time leading the community and implementing difficult but safe precautionary measures to "flatten the curve."
Sifuentes made his announcement official on Wednesday morning on his personal facebook page. He will be challenging seating Commissioner Roberto Ruiz.

Sifuentes fue recientemente derrotado por el abogado local y ahora alcalde Rolando Salinas en una contienda por la alcaldía muy disputada. El siguiente viernes, el ex alcalde se registrará como candidato a Comisionado del Condado del Precinto 4.
La comunidad mostró un gran apoyo y parece agradecida por el arduo trabajo y el tiempo dedicado que Sifuentes le dio a la comunidad durante el momento más difícil sin precedentes (COVID-19) en la historia reciente.
El ex alcalde Sifuentes junto con el juez del condado David Saucedo dirigieron el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia (EOC) de la comunidad en un esfuerzo por reducir el aumento de infecciones por COVID-19 durante más de un año.
Los esfuerzos del par son dignos de admiración, dedicando su tiempo a liderar la comunidad e implementando medidas de precaución difíciles pero seguras para "aplanar la curva".
Sifuentes hizo oficial su anuncio el miércoles por la mañana en su página personal de Facebook. Desafiará el asiento del comisionado Roberto Ruiz.
