The discovery was corroborated by U.S. Border Patrol agents and Maverick County Sheriff deputies, in a point on road 131 to the north of this region of Texas, according to MCSO deputy chief Roberto de León.
The victim, a young woman who was identified according to documents she carried, as a citizen of the Republic of Ecuador.
Once a justice of the peace vouched for the death, a funeral home was ordered to secure the body and transfer it to a medical examiner.
Meanwhile, immigration authorities will have to notify the closest Ecuadorian consulate in Texas to take over the corresponding procedures.

El hallazgo fue corroborado por agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza de Estados Unidos y alguaciles del condado de Maverick, en un punto de la carretera 131 al norte de esta región de Texas, según el subjefe de MCSO, Roberto de León.
La víctima, una joven que fue identificada según documentos que portaba, como ciudadana de la República del Ecuador.
Una vez que un juez de paz avaló la muerte, se ordenó a una funeraria que asegurara el cuerpo y lo transfiriera a un médico forense.
Mientras tanto, las autoridades migratorias deberán notificar al consulado ecuatoriano más cercano en Texas para que se haga cargo de los trámites correspondientes.
