Eagle Pass, TX - Health authorities and the entire local community are concerned following the latest reports of COVID-19 infections in Eagle Pass and Maverick County since the weekend to Tuesday. The State Department of Health and Human Services reported 735 citizens infected with the deadly virus over the last few days.

Also, two additional citizens died, rising the cumulative total to 418. The state health agency also reported that during the pandemic, a total of 13,399 people have been infected and 12,659 fully recovered.

In this community, the authorities have registered a low number of people admitted as a result of the infection in the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, but it is anticipated that due to the current high number of infected patients, hospitalizations may increase.
