Del Rio, TX - On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 11:37PM, officer of the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 400 block of San Juan Street in reference to a "shots fired" call. Upon arrival, officer found that several shots had been fired towards a residence, with one of those rounds striking and fatally taking the life of a 12-year-old male.

The DRPD Criminal Investigation Division continues the investigation into the murder of the child. Police Detectives and Val Verde County Sheriff's Office investigators have conducted several interviews of person(s) of interest that possibly may have a connection into the murder.

Federal Agencies have been in constant communication with the police department to provide information and any assistance needed. As a reminder to the public, VVCSO has contributed a reward to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for the murder.

Asesinan a niño de tan solo 12 años en tiroteo de Del Rio

Del Rio, TX - El domingo 16 de enero de 2022 a las 11:37 p. m., un oficial del Departamento de Policía de Del Rio respondió a la cuadra 400 de la calle San Juan en referencia a una llamada de "disparos". Al llegar, el oficial descubrió que se habían disparado varios tiros hacia una residencia, y uno de esos disparos golpeó y le quitó la vida a un niño de 12 años.

La División de Investigación Criminal de DRPD continúa la investigación sobre el asesinato del niño. Los detectives de la policía y los investigadores de la oficina del alguacil del condado de Val Verde han realizado varias entrevistas a personas de interés que posiblemente puedan tener una conexión con el asesinato.

Las agencias federales han estado en constante comunicación con el departamento de policía para brindar información y cualquier asistencia necesaria. Como recordatorio para el público, VVCSO ha contribuido con una recompensa a cualquiera que proporcione información que conduzca al arresto y enjuiciamiento de la(s) persona(s) responsable(s) del asesinato.
